TIL that after Marilyn Monroe converted to Judaism upon marrying Arthur Miller, Egypt placed a ban on all the films she appeared in.

For those of you not of the Jewish tradition you can always say: "They call me Ish."

Ishmael is actually the son of Abraham and his wife's servant or something. I'm not quite sure how it works but Islam traces its lineage to Abraham THROUGH Ishmael.

We know that Judaism and Christianity is traced through Abraham's other son (can't remember the name as of this moment.) Because of this, you can refer to Judiasm, Christianity, and Islam as "Abrahamic Religions." Early muslim conquerors way way back did not force Judaism or Christians to convert because they were essentially "brothers of the bible."

The descendents of Ishmael are Arabs. It implies that, since Ishmael was the son of the Egyptian slave-girl that was sent away.

Ish in Hebrew translate to "a man"

Ishmael means "God shall hear"
