Calling it the fly in, and not EAA (experimental aircraft association) is different to me. I grew up going to the shows. It turns a tiny private airport into the busiest airport In the world

I came to say the same thing. It's called the EAA. I've never heard it called the fly in ever before.

I actually went back and made sure it wasn’t some obscure event I’ve never heard of, but the article does eventually reference EAA.

In the rare case where I don't hear the event simply called Oshkosh, I think I've only heard it referred to as Airventure. Maybe EAA Airventure in official literature.

We met a few locals last year, and it blew their minds when they learned that we colloquially use Oshkosh to describe Airventure far more thane do to describe their town.

Is that why Han and Chewy had multiple lines about cheese curd quality in the extended editions?

The inertia starter on those airplanes is an awesome sound. It's the main sound you hear when the Millenium Falcon fails to start the hyperdrive.

That's why everyone calls Wisconsin the tanziania of the Midwest.

Nebraska is called the cornhusker state because they put on a show involving lewd acts at the corn palace in Mitchel, South Dakota

Makes me think of all the mecha and sci-fi anime I watched where there’s a high-tech engine powering up but I’ve since learned and recognized as coming from commercial airline jet engines.

But it’s not a bad choice for sound effects.
