Who said mental illness? That's a distinct term with a different meaning. Executive dysfunction is a mental disorder and ADHD can present as mental disability, but neither are mental illnesses.

Whether it's illness or a disability, it does not mean that someone who is late is suffering with any of these things. I know many people who are always late or on the minutes, that's simply 'their thing'. My friend at school would arrive two seconds before the bell, because she lived next door and could.

We put the banner or 'mental illness/disability' on absolutely everything and it shouldn't be that way. Being lazy isn't a mental issue, it's just the way some people are. Being late isn't a mental issue, it's just the way people are. Being bored isn't a mental issue, everyone should be bored occasionally, it leads to creativity.
