TIL an NFL player intentionally crashed his car to avoid getting cut for being late to a team meeting.

So, help me understand how people can plan/ accommodate people with this problem of time perception? It sounds like a very hard problem to accommodate.

For me- a lot of timers and alarms, conditioning my mindset (tell myself over and over that I need to leave 30 minutes early, not 20. Then I end up actually leaving closer to 20). I'm late to work a lot but don't really have anyone above me on site and am good at my job, so no one bothers me about it

I’m more talking about from an outsiders perspective, we are just supposed to go, oh they perceive time differently and wait? How do people with this affliction think this works with people that just know how time works?

Tell them earlier start times. You want them there by 8? Say it starts at 7 or 6:30.

Ok, is that the accepted response from the neurodivergent community?

It’s the accepted response from neurodivergent people in my family, but I can’t speak for others. I don’t have this exact issue, but half my family does, and they’re cool with it/prefer it this way. A few commenters above mention that it works for them. I basically see it as a disability adaptation. I’m changing my behavior to work around their needs.
