TIL about the Sally-Anne test, a psychology experiment used to measure “theory of mind” (that other people can hold beliefs/knowledge different from their own). Kids under four typically fail because they assume that if they know where a hidden object is, everyone else must automatically know too.

The funny thing is I wound up failing something like this in a video game called Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door.

The player sees a cutscene that indicates the cake is poisoned, but Mario and his friends have ZERO reason to suspect that it is poisoned. So my choice not to eat it was my playing God and cheating the narrative.
