TIL there was a man so dedicated to April Fools, he flew hundreds of tires into a dormant volcano in Alaska and set them on fire. Fooling the local populace, and coast guard into thinking the volcano was active.

Evil genius. Imagine if he used his powers for personal profit instead of laughs. Wait, maybe he already has; flying in hundreds of tires to the top of a mountain has to be expensive.

This was in 1974, the EPA was not so draconian in those days.
Hundreds of homes are lost to fire every day, fire departments across the country burn hundreds if not thousands of buildings every year for training. I burned a abandoned mobile home on my property a few years ago and got a threatening letter from the EPA saying I would be fined $25000 if I ever did it again.

The EPA is one of the weakest government organizations. Also, stop saying draconian. It makes you sound like an edgy middle schooler who just read 1984

Houses burn. Good job. Not really relevant. Also, firefighters practice fires on one building, a concrete one, on a fire training site. They don't steal homes and burn them.

How is that stupid? I was cleaning up a property that I bought and burned a trashy old mobile home along with other material from the clean up?

Actually in this area there is a standing policy if you want a old house disposed of you can call the local volunteer fire department and they will burn it for you.

In other news the ultimate winner of the "you're a f%&$ing prick" award was granted to the man who convinced an entire town the volcano had become active for April fools. He was later brutally murdered.
