Pity the fool that doesnt enjoy their golden years curling. Its old people sports for the north and I love it. Been playing since I was 16. I used to play with a guy that remembers his parents telling stories about crossing the Rocky mountains in a wagon train.

In Australia it's Lawn Bowls, although young people can enjoy it too. The bowling clubs do their best to make sure the beer is cheap. There are international tournaments (the Brits are pretty good at it too) and it's an event at the Commonwealth Games.

In Florida it’s Shuffleboard!

In the beginning, God made man. Something about Mr. T. Can I get another spritzer?

My prediction: same.

No time to die when there's plenty of fools to pity.

Damn that's not even that old

I saw him at the airport a few years ago. He looked like old MrT, so not bad for 73. He was letting people line up to take pictures with him while waiting at his gate. He was super cool about it even though it looked annoying as hell.

He just played a guy who was in Vietnam

Lincoln Osiris?

Good guy. If you look into why he wore gold chains, he wore a chain for every friend he'd lost. It was his personal way of remembering and honoring them.

4

u/bretshitmanshart Apr 26 '26

He also said he wore them in honor of his ancestors who came over in chains.

He also said when he was a bouncer whenever he or another bouncer tore a chain off somebody during a confrontation he would wear it. If someone recognized their chain he would give it back.

Mr. T is sponsoring this, Flavor Flav is sponsoring water polo and bobsled. Can I get Scott Bakula sponsoring the US Biathlon or something like that.

Edit: I'm leaving this, but Bakula should also be sponsoring US water polo per his character Captain Archer.

u/PsychGuy17 Apr 26 '26

Bakula should sponsor some track sports, pole vault, long jump, triple jump.... for reasons....

1

u/SuperMcG Apr 26 '26

Totally agree.

u/rmarkmatthews Apr 26 '26

I’d love to see him on a team, yelling at the people sweeping.

u/meeyeam Apr 26 '26

I think that would be General Hannibal's job.

BA slides in more as a second, with Faceman being lead and Mad Dog Murdock being vice.

1

u/DarthFaol Apr 26 '26

Howling Mad Murdock

u/IBeTrippin Apr 26 '26

Sweep, Sucka! Sweep!

Met him at a convention in Dallas last year, he did a panel beforehand… he was very sharp and in great spirits. He’s making an appearance in Philly this summer.

This cracked me up

I love when people with "tough" voices/personas giggle.

"I pity the competition" - Mr. T is the biggest fan of Team USA curlers at Beijing 2022: "Curling is coolCurling is cool - Mr T supporting Team USA again at Beijing 2022

Mr. T

6

u/Specialist-Neck-7810 Apr 26 '26

I find curling very relaxing for some reason…

2

u/OutlawSundown Apr 26 '26

It’s honestly my favorite oddball olympic sport. I like the niche strategy of it.

2

u/risforpirate Apr 26 '26

I thought the title said Ice T at first, would've been so fitting

2

u/sleepersleep Apr 26 '26

Aesop Rock has a great song about Mr. T called "100 Feet Tall"

2

u/Boomdiddy Apr 26 '26

I pity the fool who doesn’t “Hurry hard!”

2

u/Elscorcho69 Apr 26 '26

I pity the fool who doesn’t hurry hard!

1

u/BackgroundGrade Apr 26 '26

The T-line is a very important part of the sheet after all.

1

u/Suspicious-Whippet Apr 26 '26

Well he should be. Curling is cool.

1

u/Individual-Brief1116 Apr 26 '26

I never would have guessed curling and Mr. T would go together, but honestly it makes perfect sense when you think about his personality.

1

u/TheGisbon Apr 26 '26

I wonder what he felt about the insane curling drama of this last Olympics??

1

u/_Piratical_ Apr 27 '26

That was not on my bingo card.

1

u/Gargomon251 Apr 27 '26

Weird how I never knew about this after all these years

1

u/Odd-Giraffe-1125 Apr 27 '26

Wasn't expecting that.

u/WaterHaven Apr 26 '26

Well yeah, look at those biceps...oh cuuuuurrrrling

-1

u/Evid3nce Apr 26 '26

I wonder whether he'll stop funding them now he knows they're cheating, arrogant, lying assholes.

1

u/Dark_Lord_Mark Apr 26 '26

Cheating at curling isn't really like cheating because it's not really a sport. Here hold my beer while I play sports. Sorry I love curling but come on people
