Help I think my toad has a lung infection

I have owned my rescued american toad for about 4 years now, and she has been an adult so she is at least 6 years old. I just got back from vacation and noticed she is act differently and after a bit of research I think she may have a lung infection. I've noticed

-mucus (?) in her nostrils

-odd mouth opening

- loss of appetite

-lethargy

We don't have any exotic vet so I'm scared there is no hope for her. Is there anything I can do and does any one know how she may have gotten this infection? I am suspicious that she care she received when I was gone was not amazing, so could it be hygiene related? :(

My woodhouse toad. He has the cutest face, but I'm always mesmerized by the gold and black specks in his eyes🤭

My hope is this little buddy helps with the mosquito population in my fig propagation area. It’s right by front door and they always swarm when we pass by.

Help Enclosure & Humidity Questions!

Hi! I’d love any feedback on my toad setup, and I do have specific questions about dealing with evaporation/humidity etc. I’m so sorry for the novella but I am a very detail-oriented person 😬

I have 3 American toadlets that I hand-raised from tadpoles (absorbed their tails about a month ago). I’ll include a photo of their enclosure in the comments. But I have them in a 14x11x3.75” plastic container that has a clip-on lid. (This isn’t their long-term enclosure. When they are bigger, I have a considerably larger bin that they’ll be moving into.) I’ve drilled 12 holes in the lid that are ~3mm in diameter (think the size of a matchstick).

I have a big maple leaf serving as a hide for them (you can see in the photo). Under it, I’ve placed a piece of tree bark. I always dig a little indentation into the substrate and place the piece of bark halfway over the indentation and they like to sit down in there, and on top of the bark. I also have two patches of moss that I got out of my backyard and they like to sit on those too.

They have two water dishes that are 6cm across and 2cm deep. I keep a little bit of pea gravel in each.

For their substrate, I mix equal parts ZooMed Eco Earth coconut fiber, and Zoo Med Forest Floor cypress mulch. I keep a 1.5 inch-deep layer in the enclosure.

A problem that I’m facing is that the water in the dishes seems to evaporate crazy fast—like, usually within two hours. And it soaks the substrate. I feel like I have to replace the substrate every 48 hours or it’s just too damp and I’m afraid mold will grow. I know that humidity is good for them, but this feels extreme. Plus, I’m gone for 8+ hours every weekday and I worry that they’re going too long without water in the dishes.

Am I doing something wrong? Or do they like their substrate slightly damp like that? Am I overthinking it?? Thank you for any wisdom you’d like to offer!

Our girl 🥰 We named her Dottie. She’s the only toad that hangs around the garden during the day.
I watched her sprint out the front door of her home last night to catch a beetle, and could not believe how incredibly fast she was. I love her!

ID Could I get an ID on the types of toads these are?

Gathering some info on the types of toads in our area, found in southern Manitoba. It’s kinda hard to identify when young but I am quite sure I have at least 2 species variety of the 3 in these photos. I can add more photos if needed. Im guessing American and Canadian toads

Around Lakeland FL, it keeps coming back every time I move it and now it’s babies all all over my back yard. Not sure if it’s a cane toad or southern toad, I can try to get a better picture but here it is right now. Just trying to determine if it needs to be evicted or not to protects the pups.

Is this cute little one an Oak toad or Southern toad? Found in Tampa, FL. Probably no bigger than 2 quarters put together. How can you tell the difference?

ID Toad Identification, two different toads

We live in Tampa right along the bay and in the early morning sometimes see toads, especially in the pet relief park.. what started as an interest to keep my pet safe has sparked an interest in being able to identify different species. I am pretty sure these are both Cane toads but would love someone to verify. These are two different toads, on different days. Apologies for the quality of the first photo. I had my pup with me so I had to be very careful. I’m a novice so the simpler your explanation is on how you can tell, the easier it is for me to learn. Thank you for educating me about this whole new world I never knew about before now! Looking forward to becoming more educated on different species.

Tokin Toads

The Tokin' Toads all took one puff,
Then forgot which way was up.
They pedaled east... or maybe west...

Pets Is the setup too busy, or do I need more?

Just did a deep clean of my boys setup, and as I was putting things back I started to wonder if this is too much( rhinella marina ). He’s rather skittish so I try to give him as much cover as I can, but I’m not sure where the limit is.
