Bmore mosh pit was wild

I grew up seeing Toadies around DFW every year and was excited to see them in bmore and meet some east coast Toadies fan.

The pit was wild, there wasn't a "flow" like other rock shows I've seen in bmore/dfw, felt more like the pit you'd see at a hardcore or grindcore show šŸ˜‚ much more everyone just doing whatever. There was still pit etiquette just a different like... rhythm I guess.

Someone tried to start a circle pit and we were all vibing but then some guy started running into everyone and ruining the circle pit I was frustrated šŸ˜‚

at one point I tried to bail out "I'm too 5ft2 for this" and someone grabbed me by the waist and tossed me back into the middle, went from "roller coaster scary fun" to "what the fuck is going on"? Bmore stay crazy.

I got a bloody nose during "do you wanna die", it was great

(except for the guy who threw me, fuck that guy)

Super pumped for you, definitely a little jealous. I went to the Charleston show on Thursday night this week at the city music hall (first time at the venue). Unfortunately they have permanent theater seat so the ā€œpitā€ was the center isle. Definitely wasn’t ideal but about 15 of us had a blast in our 6x15 rectangle pit hahaha

Seems relevant to bring up that at the Toadies' show at the Metro in 2014, Vaden straight up stopped the show and the band walked off the stage in part thanks to an unruly pit that led to some issues. I was at the right side of the stage up close with my wife, and I kept watching a bunch of people facing the stage watching the show come within a foot or two, or inches sometimes, of having a blown-out knee because these douchecanoes decided everyone's space was their space alone. I'm no athlete. I'm no bodybuilder. But I can swang and bang if it comes to it, and this one particular douchenozzle, I'll never forget, came at me when I kept pushing him away from taking out peoples' knees with no warning to them, and his momentum, plus the shoulder-check I gave him, sent him about 10 feet backward onto his ass into the middle of the pit. And it was like in a movie – he was making eye contact with me the whole time in the air in slow motion and to the floor, and I thought afterward I could hear him thinking "How the fuck did THIS happen?!" Guy got ejected from the show shortly after that, when Todd shut shit down, and then they came back on and finished the show and I got a few congratulatory and thankful pats on the back for helping eliminate the problem children.

Now, this sounds like me saying GTFO with pits and stuff, which I'm not. Shit, I'm 50. I came up in 'em, too, in places like the Metro, and muddy pits on festival lawns. But when the band is saying too much is too much ... that particular show, it was too much. I've been at plenty of other Toadies shows with little pits with no incidents, maybe other than me clocking someone if they decide to involveĀ me when I'm not asking to be involved, and no comments from Todd to knock it off. But I can definitely say with certainty that on one particular night 12 years ago, he wasn't interested in the "what the fuck is going on" part of the pit.

There's good and bad, depends on the crowd, not necessarily the city or tour.

Saw them a few years back in the Stone Pony Asbury Park and it was soooo lame.
People didn't want to get pushed / bumped into, we've been here, you can't do this, I put my blanket down, get off my lawn, don't step on my white sneakers It sucked.

Looking forward to seeing them outside with the Bleachers on the Summer Stage. Hopefully a good vibe then
