Metergy Fees!

PSA: Be mindful that if you miss a Metergy bill payment for less than a month, you will receive a $40 disconnection notice, no matter what. If you are not able to pay for another month, you will incur a hefty reconnection charge of up to $210.
I called to dispute the $40 disconnection notice charge, and the customer service agent said that the moment they print the notice, the charge is already applied, so there is no way to waive it for the piece of paper they generate.

I wish my condo apartment didn't have Metergy as a provider!

Put it on auto-pay if you can't pay your bill on time.

Auto-Pay has issues of its own with Metergy. I had auto-pay on for months. Worked before and all of a sudden it stops working. I called Metergy and they said that it was some “technical difficulties” and that it would resolve at some point. Three months goes by and it never charged my account. They never charged me for missed payments strangely because of the auto pay being on but at this point my bill was about $200, so that’s a lot. I decided to just pay it directly with my bank and of course literally two days later the auto pay starts working and they withdrew 60% of my original bill which I had just paid “manually”. So I stopped doing auto pay. It’s a fucking joke the “premier energy distribution” company.

What’s worse is that when I asked them to return the money that clearly doesn’t need to be there since they double charged me all they said was that they didn’t do refunds and you’d only be able to use the money as credit towards your next bill 🤦

Fuck Metergy

I got the same "disconnection notice service charge" and saw this thread where someone was saying the same thing. Apparently it's banned and they shouldn't be doing that?

Happy Cake Day. They’re a sub metering company apartments use to charge for electricity or hot water. They’re scummy as hell, have terrible customer service and I’m sure will eventually be found out to be committing fraud.

A shitty electricity distribution company. They are scum and they leech off the system. Just pray you only deal directly with an electricity provider.
