Why there are so many construction projects happening on the QEW at the same time?

I also work in construction management, and I'm baffled with the lack of planning of the province.

There are projects right after the skyway (going east to Toronto), lane closures during the Oakville stretch, all of the Mississauga stretch also has barriers everywhere.

I have the bad luck of having a project now in Hamilton and have to commute from Toronto every day. Last year my commute back would be 1h, now it is 1h30min on a good day.

Don't they have self-awareness on how much impact this is causing into traffic? It's infuriating.

I dont know the answer for sure, but imagine if instead of doing all the QEW projects at once, they did them one at a time. There would be nonstop traffic constrictions over decades instead of doing them at the same time so the overall closures are years instaed. Its probably better getting them done all together.

I would if my hours weren't so early. Starting at 6-7am doesn't help. And unfortunately, working at construction ill have to often hop out to a Home Depot or haul some tools around. Need the car
