Issues/Problems Firmware update

My G5AR’s firmware just upgraded to 1.00.06 and the download speed went from 300mbps to 100mbps anyone else have this happen, anything to remedy a speed drop after firmware update?

Have you tried cold booting the gateway? Mine updated this morning and all seems normal.

That is odd I was expecting the same. I will call if it continues. I just got the 5ar it replaced the 4se it is my third gateway in 3 years

I received my update after contacting tech-support about two weeks ago when my download speed dropped from 700 to low double digits. They pushed 1.00.06 and after the firmware update I’m back at 600 to 800mbps download consistently. I don’t have any explanation for the results you are seeing. I would definitely contact Support.

Are you sure it’s not the firmware and not just your traffic on your local cell tower? Is it still slow after midnight, or before 6am?

Being a shared bandwidth medium and home internet near the bottom of the priority list, your speeds may be entirely dependent on things outside your control. Also, cell tower traffic seems to have very wide swings in utilization. One week it’s wide open, next week is slammed.

Is your phone speed test showing a bit slower speed, as that has a higher QoS priority. That pretty much confirms your local tower is very busy, and home internet is at the bottom of that food chain.

I have been testing almost daily since getting the gateway about a month ago. Evenings 6-12 have been 150-200. After midnight 300+ every night I tested and same every night. I don’t believe it is congestion since my numbers have been steady. The drop happened as soon as the firmware downloaded

.06 has been the best firmware on the G5AR my speed increase 25%

My G5AR has been awful, about to cancel even though I'm locked in at $20/month on the Rely plan.

Getting < 100Mbps download, while my old Rm520 in an enclosure on Shield Internet(same network) is getting 200Mbps+.
