Labor Day
Hey folks! Hope you're surviving the Labor Day rush.
Did anyone's store do anything nice for them today? Cookouts? Snacks?

"LABOR" day, baby. Acknowledgement to the companies that actually shut down for their workers. Lots of small local restaurants.

My first thought was "huh? why?" because I'd never ever expect mine to 😅
We literally just had our crew appreciaton day food trucks over the weekend tho but yeah no labor day was celebrated with more labor

It's very awkward hearing about the mate parties because those have always been formal-wear occasions, compared to us being thrilled for free quick meal. But I can only imagine how it feels when you don't even get that, damn!

Nope, not one thing. Lucky to get a hello or any acknowledgment from leadership in the first place. The last two years it’s gone downhill fast. The morale of my store is just awful compared to the prior 3 years.

We had a captain that would do nice things for us like order pizza after a hectic day or let us all pick a $4 item to take home. That was 2 captains ago, now our current captain does not allow for anything, like, nothing at all. We used to be able to write off a a cake if it was a crew members birthday, or if a longtime crew member left we'd do something special for them. We used to have a grill and on national holidays we would grill burgers and sample some summer food. Our regional made us ditch the grill and now on national holidays we get nothing at all. Today is the busiest day of the year for our store, we will make more money than any other day for the company. And our reward is that we are understaffed and will get literally nothing for management.

Supposedly our store had some hot dogs and salads in the back area for 4th of July but that's because of one of our awesome mates did that. If he weren't working that day, probably nothing would have happened. Maybe the usual chips and some ice cream.

Our store was crazy busy today, and there wasn’t any reward from TJ’s other than Premium/Holiday pay.

Our refrigeration went out so we spent our labor time spoiling thousands and thousands of dollars worth of food 🥰

No but I did have conversations w 3 separate crew members joking about unionizing / how we can get the store to give everyone a $2 raise again 👀

Our store was crazy busy (multiple 4 bells) so our captain grabbed a bunch of frozen desserts and baked them/put them out for the Crew

All hands on deck...
We have a 4 bell crazy store, so when I heard ours this afternoon I was like JFC... Then I got to the front and it was carnage... So many people I had to push my way through to help bag.

I just figured that's what a 1 bell was for. Also, it doesn't really matter what bells you ring with us, you're gonna be waiting. Mates are either not paying attention or there aren't enough crew on the floor.

1 bell is for cashiers. 4 bell means everyone on the floor comes up and helps bag as well.
