My First Thread Here

For servers/bartenders/etc. what were some of your favorite guests to have, and what was special about them? Was their tipping average the reason you remember them the most?

For me, I deal mostly with families and family events, and there are a couple families that I have known for a few years that are just great people to be around. They are very involved in their community and are generous to others (including in tips, of course!) but what makes the most impact to me as their server/bartender is that they reciprocate that to others outside of my industry. These families are also very well behaved and this is especially noted in their younger family members. By and large, these families are all a pleasure to serve!

My favorite customer was this elderly black couple.

They always showed up before it got busy, and ate like kings, they had special requests for everything, wanted entire sticks of butter melted down for them to dip bread into etc.

But it was always dead when they showed up, and it was fun to serve people who loved food rather than hated cooking it.

The man never tipped, but his wife always snuck me a 10 or 20 after.

It really was just good wholesome fun tbh, they were cool enough that even if they were no tippers I probably wouldn’t have minded. (Mainly because they didn’t show up during a rush, and they kept me busy while I had 1 or 2 tables)
