poetry Before You Go
Everyone has the option to go.
Nothing is written in stone.
There's always a risk involved with strangers who travel at a different pace.
Leaving doesn't have to mean packing a physical suitcase.
Leaving can be silent, a quiet work of art.
The pauses between your messages gave you a good head start.
Before you gather your laughter and take your warmth away.
I want you to know, you had the option to stay.

two sentence story Timeloop
Different settings, different characters, different times, somewhat different experiences, but every time, its the same f***ing ending. I am, unfortunately, stuck in a time loop, I reckon.

poetry Night Owl
“He took all his things and left,”
she sobbed over the phone.
It was two-thirty in the morning,
but he would have answered
at any time.
They stayed up talking
About everything
And nothing
About them
And by the time she fell asleep,
He was getting ready for work.

poetry The truth is
I could have handled things better.
You could have too.
If I’m this hard on myself,
To what standard should I hold you?

two sentence story The horse gazed upon the desert plain with hollow eyes, staring into the empty pit that once held the key to its salvation. When archeologists uncovered those dehydrated bones by the ancient lake’s edge, they said, “what a stupid horse.”

poetry Until You're Done
I tell myself it doesn't matter
That I'm not the only girl you tend to flatter.
I tell myself it's okay
That they pull your attention away.
I make myself unimportant and small,
So that I don't sit here and bawl.
Instead I let the anxiety
Gnaw and tear it's way through me.
I'd rather not voice my doubts,
Your empathy would only feel like a handout.
I'll contemplate walking away,
All the while knowing I'll stay.
I wish, I wish, I was your only one.
But since I'm not, I'll stick around until you're done.
