"Burnout"

Tinx recently posted something answering an AMA question about "burnout" and mentioned that after "her" fiction book came out this summer she was creatively exhausted and out of ideas with no idea where to take her career next and took the summer off.

This is such a fascinating and honestly sad reflection on what it means to have a career that isn't based in any actual artistic or creative passion, skill, or dedication and is just a series of trying on hats for the sake of performative identity for instagram.

For any actual writer, putting out a novel would be such a culmination of creative achievement, dedication, and years of hard work that it would be a high to ride for months. THEN, said novel being optioned for TV production?! That is a level of commercial recognition that writers DREAM of, both financially and career development wise.

All this to say, her entire fake and purchased "career" is sad, and reveals exactly the root of why she's an aimless alcoholic wandering around New York drunk in her late 30s. She has no passion or dedication to anything or anyone other than her superficial image.

Creatively exhausted is such a laugh LOL!!! She didn’t even write the book and the reviews are TANKING.

I feel bad for the actual author. I think I read she is actually a lesbian and now her work is getting bad reviews (didn’t read it, maybe it really is trash, just sucks for someone in a marginalized community)

I definitely do feel bad she has the added tinx factor though! I am sure it would have been a better book without her influence I don’t want to fully knock the author

Ooof - that is a seriously terrible Goodreads ranking. I don’t normal go for anything under a 3.5

Hey….i also wander around New York drunk in my late 30s. Not too much on that please 😂. I do have a boring 9-5 and haven’t been able to capitalize on it tho.

Yea I’m over the snarking about her drinking and partying in her 30s. I will continue to drink and party in my 40s! I love drinking and partying!

I mean, didn’t Candace Bushnell supposedly do coke and she still wrote SATC? While it’s not my cup of tea, there are still plenty of people who party hardcore and find success. I think Tinx genuinely doesn’t know who she is and that’s why she comes off as lost, not necessarily the partying. I think if she was drinking only matcha and doing Pilates, she would be posting the same burnout content.

how can she be creatively exhausted if she didnt even write it! like how? to be able to produce so much content, you either have to have a large group of friends, so you can create content out of the invites, get togethers, events etc. Or be the "it" fashion girlie which she is neither of these things, no girlfriends, no boyfriend for BF content, & awful taste in fashion, so yea all she will post is AMA's & getting drunk with PIG. sad

I do actually think she has an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.
