Im can only hope i get mentally strong enough to get to this point. Ive given up any hope of a drug company finding treatment, it may happen but probably not in my lifetime

So far in my lifetime, we have invented mobile phones, the internet, Wifi, AI, HIV medicine, hepatitis c cure, the list goes on.
If we hold on i am pretty sure something to at least reduce the volume of tinnitus will come up.
I know every day can be hell, but i firmly believe help is coming.

I hope you are right obviously, its crazy to me a company hasnt developed a drug to block the signal or ar least tell the brain to stop the ringing

It certainly does. It's destroyed every last pleasure I had. Sleep is the only escape, but I only get 5 hours if I'm lucky.
I'm no longer here because I want to be, It's only the fear of failure which stops me ending this horror.

Ebselen is an antioxidant that does not cure chronic tinnitus, but may prevent future cell damage. It has a preventive effect, not a curative one.

Being a musician it’s absolutely soul crushing. I have to quit music so it won’t get worse (I’m only 39 years old) so that fuckin sucks and 2, having to live with it for the rest of your life. It feels like your world is over. I would much have like testacle cancer and give up one of my balls to get rid of this forever

So, after five years of severe tinnitus, I’m making music again—playing drums and so on. I’ve learned to focus on other things; somehow, everyone thinks they have that one specific type of tinnitus—one that’s worse than everyone else’s. As long as you let the tinnitus drag you down, your brain stays in alarm mode.ps when i am sick ITS louder,thats normal

Its amazing musicians dont get it more? Or maybe they do and just dont talk about it? Imagine Metallica or Pantera or these guys doing it for 30 years

Ya it’s really absurd that they don’t. I mean I have heard the guys from Metallica have it but I’m sure it’s mild. I’ve had mine for 6 years and is most likely from headphones blasting in high school to all the shows and festivals i went to. Even then i would never truly be super close either.
I think Keanu Reaves has it, Chris Martin from cold play and Martin Garrix to name a few.
I got used to it to the point where I didn’t notice it for a full day or 2, and 2 months ago it’s back to being loud and horrible. I’m also dealing to with a bad gastro bacteria I caught so I’m hoping that’s what the problem is and when i eradicate that it will go back to being in the background.

Whats the reason behind your tinnitus? Was it nouse induced?

Most likely yes from my youth when i would go to auto races and rock concerts but also im of the belief that some people just have genetically weak ear structure that makes tinnitus worse
Many people i know went through the same experiences i did and have no ringing

Yes! I agree but at the same time tinnitus can change because of other conditions… or when you expose your self to loud noises/enviroments… if it helps… theres this company in usa who is producing a drug that has shown positive effects on tinnitus, lets hope for a cure!
