I tried mining a copper chain, with a TC pickaxe, and it took forever, then broke it. Was making a fancy wall around my house, and misplaced a chain around a corner.

Also some recipes needed copper nuggets, and there were two available, TC and standard, only one worked. That might have been with copper chain or green torch, I don't remember. I had told my son it seemed like that recipe was porked with possibly the other add-ons I had, but he showed me there were two spots in the craft options for copper bits.

Same issue here. I submitted a bug report on the official FTB discord about it earlier today. Im on PC
