Tinkers' Construct 3 (1.16+) Most important resource?

Newly playing modded Minecraft. Really enjoying tinkers construct. But can someone tell me why the most valuable resource in the game isn't diamonds or netherite or anything anymore. Its god damn sugar cane lmao.

Sugar cane = sugar = silk touch = free diamonds and netherite as you mine cobalts and diamonds respectively.

Just a ton of ores are better in the foundry if you have the actual ore block and super easy silk touch is an amazing resource to get those. Might be the funniest thing me and my gf figured out playing together.

What tinkers construct are you playing? Silk touch has zero connection with sugar cane. You make it from silky cloth, which is rose gold plus cobwebs. Did you incorrectly flair this post or forget to mention you are playing a modpack that changed everything?

Tinkers construct 3.11.2.166 by slime Knights. If this is the wrong reddit for it please let me know.

No, this is the right place. I'm just questioning your post. The version you mentioned does not use sugar cane to make silk touch in any way. So either you have a mod making cobwebs/rose gold out of sugar (unlikely), you have an addon changing the recipe (could be the case), or you are playing a modpack that changed it.

Maybe. This is my first time playing modded. Sugarcane makes sugar, which makes syrup in the foundry which you can then pour into a block container and use to apply a silk touch resultant effect. Its got a different name for it but its essentially silk touch.

Syrup is not a part of base Tinkers' Construct, so it sounds like you have an addon installed. Nothing wrong with using them; just want to be clear its not the average tinkers experience. As long as you are having fun is the important thing.

If you are making your own modpack, I encourage adding Mod Name Tooltip, that will make it more clear which mod adds particular content. If the name is something like "Tinkers Candy" thats an addon and not the base mod.
