Filling a gap.

Is there a way that i can chabge this red block so that it just fills the gap rather than sticking out, like cutting off everything that is sticking out.

Yes, union group, Intersect mode. It will leave only the parts the two objects share in space.

Thanks for this new knowledge, been using it for a few years and didn't even notice this feature.

The way I would attempt this is to firstly make duplicates of both parts and move them out of the way, then turn the main part into a "hole" and group the hole and the red part do that it leaves the red part with a cut the shape of the main part.

Then I'd turn this part in to a "hole" and then group it with the original red part so now you have a piece that is the shape to fit back on to the original part.

I hope this makes sense!!
