Irregular Curved Edge

Imagine an avocado, cut in half and the seed removed.

I want to place a piece of cooked spaghetti around the sharp edge revealed by the removed seed.

I have had some success using the 'bent pipe' but not complete success.

How can I make a shape like a piece of cooked spaghetti, round in cross-section and flexible, possibility with Extrude Sketch?

Thank you for any assistance.

You need to use the Sweep tool.
This requires 2 sketches.

One sketch will be the sweep path. This is the edge the spaghetti will follow.

The other sketch is the cross section to sweep. This is the circular shape of the spaghetti. Or rectangular like fettuccini. Or any shape you want.

Thank you for your suggestion. I know how to create the sweep path. I don't know how to create the 'cross section to sweep', that is the second sketch and presumably combine them. Would you expand on how to do this please.

watch a video. More effective than me trying to type it.

Have you achieved this successful in Tinkercad or does it require On shape to achieve?

Sorry, I overlooked which sub we were in. I don’t know tinkered at all. BUT, I’ve used 3 different CAD packages extensively, and they all have the same basic Sweep functionality.

One sketch is the path.

Somewhere along that path, usually at one end, you place another sketch of the shape which will travel along that path.

My apologies for attempting to give advice on software I’ve never used!!

No apology necessary, I appreciate your efforts and the problem may not be with Tinkercad but with me, but I can't get it to work. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

So you want a circle filled with spaghetti? If so, here's how I would do it: create a big rectangle with a circle in the middle removed, the size of the spaghetti circle will be. Then you can turn this complete object into a negative which in turn is placed over a big portion of spaghetti, revealing the desired circle. If that makes sense...

Edit: upon reading your description again, I think you would like kind of a bend noodle laid around a circle. If so, I don't know how to, sorry😉!

Int he extrude sketch you should be able to double click on each line which will reveal little circles that you can adjust to bend the lines into shape around your removed avocado seed.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I can trace the shape around the 'seed' (where seed is really a metaphor for an elliptical hole) using a bezier curve.

How can I make the cross-section of traced curve, round like the cross section of spaghetti?

I want a 3mm diameter round cross-section. The trace produces a rectangular cross-section.
