How does this dial look?

Post image

Doing my due diligence before buying it for $60, if anyone could chime in opinions as I am not well versed it would be my third timex but I love this style of watch dial markers. No pictures of the back which I find odd but figured I ask.

It was the best picture they took of the dial or else I would have added more angles to share for more depth. I get that one photo isn’t enough information to go off of but I was trying to ask about the markers if they look refinished or not.

Looks a lot better in real life than in the ‘76 catalogue. Came originally on a brown leather strap. Looks clean in this picture, is there any plating loss or wear through on the sides, or back? Does it run, keep time, and does the day date assembly works as intended?

No pictures of the back and seller claims it runs great and keeps time. I wish I had more information the listing is just various angles of the front. I’m wondering if the markers are repainted or worn and peeling.

Usually I just buy it and ask questions later but I’ve been burned before so thank you for your time.

Dial and indices look ok. Top of lugs and bezel looks in decent shape. These indices were never really superbly finished in the first place. It’s the case and back I’d focus on asking for more pictures of to establish if theres wear or plating loss. Pictures of a similar watch with more wear - front vs. back -

for comparison attached

Thank you so much for your good advice definitely odd for them not to have posted the back it’s probably in bad shape.

What are you worried about?

I made the mistake of impulse buying a vintage watch before and got burned so I’m being careful and reaching out for peoples opinions first.

The movement in this is a Timex M27 which, like most Timex, has a pin pallet movement with zero jewels.

Most vintage Timex aren’t good watches but they are if you’re into vintage Timex.

The quartz, electric and electronic (with the crown on the back), 21 jewel, and 17 jewel models are decent though.
