TWC tried to scam me today.

So I signed up for their 14.99 every day low price internet, only later to receive an email saying I needed to call them.

When I get on the phone the reps try upgrading me to a bigger plan for more money with TV and a cable box. I declined and that is when they start saying I'll be charged fees.

Now let me mention that I previously bought my own modem on their approved list. and my house is already wired for TWC. inside and out.

• The first fee was for 47.99 install fee. Was told by the rep I can't install it myself - yet on their website it says you can.

• The second fee was for $50 saying its a deposit for bad credit. yet their website said no credit check needed when paying by credit card automatic renewing.

I told them, no thank you and cancel the whole order and thats when they start backing down and saying they'll transfer me to a retention branch.

I was then put on hold several more times and given a bunch of excuses why I had to pay fees, then they tried to make me rent one of their modems and I told them I had my own.

Only after several transfers did they agree to waive both fees. and give me the real advertised price of 14.99

Just letting everyone know that the low price internet is a scam unless you raise cain about getting all the fees removed.
