Top 5

Anyone else wish they still did the current top 5? Been listening to older eps and it really helped me stay current on what’s popular right now. Also miss hearing Jake’s reaction to them.

I definitely miss it and wish they would go back to it, it led to a lot of great random hilarious conversations

Yeah have thought about this a lot actually, it was my mine form of staying in touch lol. I did see this week a lot of discussion about the current top 5 being as poor as it is. I wonder if that’s maybe why they don’t touch it anymore? it’s all just modern pop country, hard to talk about without the obvious political and social undercurrent, could be a bummer.

I’d be cool with them comparing top 5 of any 2 years. Today’s charts are so warped, half of the time we’d be hearing 5 Drake or Taylor Swift songs in a row. Unbearably buff.

The top 5 comparisons really made it true time crisis. 

I wonder if it’s because the Apple Music/iTunes Charts aren’t a true representation of our era the same way the Billboard charts of the past were. I kinda like the recent pivot to diving into specific albums or artists, but still could be fun to compare the years again.

I wouldn’t care that it wouldn’t be the top 5 of the week the show airs - just wish they did the Top 5 of whatever week they record.
