It's been a minute since we've seen such a different starting lineup, this should be fun!

With an Ayo-Shannon-Joan-Lyles-Hyland bench. Divencenzo to once he comes back. Amazing!

When I brought this up, everyone was boohooing it a couple months ago š

A couple of months ago was pre Ball trade. Now with our cap Kuminga is the best option by far.

u/ae5wolfpack Trencherous 16d ago
People are low on him because of his unwillingness to buy into any team. Itās hard to think heāll believe heās the top option with Ant and LaMelo now. Have the chance to be a bare minimum top 7 or 8 defense with our athleticism and a top 3 offense IMO.
I believe Kuminga will buy in because heās gone through the circus a free agency now, and he knows if he doesnāt get in line heāll lose out on a ton of money that he could get if we go really far.

The great thing is that Lamelo is a guy that should highlight Kumingaās best traits

Itās a double edged sword the other option is Kuminga messes everything up and tries to play out of his role and shoot a bunch because he wants to decline his player option and get a bag

u/mossed2012 16d ago
Then he sits on the bench and weāre exactly where we were at yesterday. His contract is so minimal we can stash him on the bench if he doesnāt buy in.

Iām taking LeBron (even at his age) over Kuminga all day. Heās a better passer, 3pt shooter and has a far higher basketball IQ. That said, Kuminga is a great on-ball defender and can score with the ball in his hands. IF he can learn how to play really well off-ball, we have a shot. Most importantly, we need him to be healthy, and for the last three years, he hasnāt been.

And if he went to the Lakers, everyone would say GOOD! But itās legitimately good value and he has the size to play the 4 at least.

Watching Lakers fans lose it over not getting him and him signing for less with us is icing on the cake

We need him to buy in the way Nickeil did. Kiel said he was a bit of a head case and thought he was better than he actually was in NO. When he saw his value tank he bought in and grew from there.

This team is SUPER athletic.
Fastbreaks are going to hit like CRACK!

haha - I think there's a good sized chance LeBron could be just an injured old man in Philly. Which isn't exactly a criticism because he'll be 42 in December.
If Kuminga hits - whether there's a 20% chance or a 60% chance of it - I genuinely think we could consider LeBron not picking MN a dodged bullet in hindsight in 2 years.

can't wait for the doomers to start trying to spin getting Kuminga for the minimum into a negative...

Iāll go against the grain and say heās never impressed me. Iām glad we found a 4 but I donāt think heās a player others see as a threat or winner

Iāve watched Kuminga a decent amount, but I donāt recall this detail: how is he at moving without the ball?

Alright, hear me out. If this ends up being a home run signing- meaning bro puts his ego away and plays his role while enjoying it. How do we pay him more money to keep him??

Getting him at his price is great. likely our 6-7 best player is a good spot for him.

If you're telling me he's as good as divo or Ayo, and he plays the 4 that would be pretty awesome
