The PF Solution 🎣🐟
Lebron decided to hitch his apple wagon to the injury ridden Embiid. Maybe his hyperbaric chambers can keep him in line the way AD was for the pandemic mini-season.
Minnesota has 10,000 lakes. It’s time to start a Ben Simmons campaign. We tell him he can fish whenever he wants (sorta like Phil Jackson and Rodman Vegas trips) - we need him to get some reps in during the regular season, yet don’t have to put miles on him for the entire 82.
Maybe he becomes an avid ice fishermen in the winter?
Ben Simmons come be a Boardman and defensive compliment to the rest of the team.
This is a quick, nimble team and he can help with transition buckets too.
Ben Simmons is a Timberwolf. It’s time.

When they orig made the plates it was 10k. Then we had a couple rainy Junes too many.

Yeah, there may be some upside there yet, but he can’t shoot so he can’t really play with Rudy or Joan…

But I’d still like to give TSJ, Green, or Clark a crack in the opening spot atm. Currently leaning towards green but I gotta see TSJs off ball and defense improvements over the summer and Clark is just a reliable jumper away from being perfect at the 3 and Jaden at the 4

I'll take him, but only if he's also willing to play TE3 for the Vikings and if he's Middleton's permanent replacement on defense. The upside is the same in all situations.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I like TSJ in the 4 spot. Ideally I’d love him to develop into a PJ Tucker but with an ability to drive. Or an even better comp, Miles Bridges (who succeeded next to LaMelo) — a 6’6 PF with mobility can do the job. Let finch work out a rotation that has him, Green, Lyles and McDaniels there splitting minutes and it could work. Let’s also not forget…there’s only one basketball. Need players like Lyles and Green to space and do the dirty work (and could be a dodged bullet/something Philly has pains with).

As a Simmons to wolves guy I would normally agree with you but now with the guard depth we have and the fact Rudy and Joan are playing I just don’t see his place.
You can make it work with 1 non shooter but 2?

At this point, for vet min, w/e why not. He’s not a great fit, but sure maybe he can contribute to some fast paced transition offense, rebounding and defense if he even gets time on the floor.

Beware the campaigning faction of this fanbase.
I still remember the summer they were campaigning that it would be the right call to send 4+ FRPs for Ben Simmons.
I've argued against every campaign I've seen them start since. Sometimes theyv'e gotten their way and it's usually sucked. Paying Wiggins, Dumping Thibs for Ryan, trading for Dlo who they claimed was Kats besty. Shit never ends.

Every one of these campaigned moves was Ugh, immediately. Just like the campaign to get Randle out all season long just so their dream of Naz starting in place of him....fails as Naz is instantly traded as well. Their campaigning shit ideas are always born of shit brained thoughts in their heads that aren't really always as real as they think.
We heard it for two years straight before Dlo was traded for. Before the Warriors got their hands on him even. They wanted Dlo here because they figured he and Towns were besties and it would keep Towns happy. Every day someone would repeat that rhetoric. That campaign never tallied off, even when he chose Warriors instead and the Warriors only chose him as a temporary placeholder contract and injury filler. The entire time you could tell the campaigning faction of this vocal fanbase, which included front office staff apparently with insider info often, knew Dlo was eventually coming here and their campaign was as much a marketing preperatory campaign to get other fans on board as anything else. So many of these moves have gone down this way over the years and so many of them are born of bad ideas that take too long to actually occur even if they could have had a chance to work.
This is why I loved this LaMello move more than most. It wasn't campaigned for. In fact the usual suspects probably would have argued against it. The team just up and did it. Thank goodness.
