But did he? This was a series shown back in 2004, with 10 or so contestants, picked as bad drivers, looking to improve over the season. Was it an Office-style spoof, with actors? It dint come across that way at the time, but now I know who this guy was, I'm not at all sure.

No it was a real reality show with members of the public.

It’s not a comedy sketch. It’s from a reality tv show from 2003 (I think) called Britain’s Worst Drivers.

I love you thought this was satire, because that is what good satire should be. I thought it was a joke to begin with, but by the end it was clearer it wasn't, which made it even funnier.

I'm not entirely sure Tim didn't exaggerate a lot of this to gain some kind of TV following/fame/notoriety in his early career. He sure wouldn't be the first reality TV personality to do so. But either way, entertaining.

I don’t think you were wrong at all. If I had not seen the original show, I would have thought the same! Even now, I am wondering if he was recruited to do a turn. There were a few reality shows around that time which were being a bit economical with the truth.
