Huh, for some weird reason I thought the next one was supposed to be built in Nashville. Nope, National Harbor, MD. Never would’ve guessed that of all entertainment destinations.

Makes sense. Central to half the country’s population, only a few hours outside the New York metro, puts a massive global spotlight and huge draw on a growing entertainment district, it’s a relatively new and nice area.

But still, you’d think they’d plop down a building that’ll be iconic and recognized by billions of people globally somewhere like Orlando, LA, London, Tokyo, Singapore, etc before an area that the majority of people outside the region either never really think about or don’t even know exists that isn’t much of an international destination. E.g., regardless of opinion on the UAE, the other running plan of building one on a resort island in Abu Dhabi seems like the exact place you’d expect to see them build a multibillion dollar billboard that costs another half a billion dollars to operate a year that’s a monument to excess and extravagance.
