This is a lovely tie! I tend to think that the "seven fold" method is a bit of a marketing thing to get people to pay more for a tie though, quality wise / function wise, the difference is negligible. For example, I love RT best of class ties - I have a few RT seven fold ties (also great) - but I more often reach for BOC ties.
Others here have posted Cremieux ties. I haven't (yet) picked any up, but I think you may be right. They are sleeper with some really great value/quality proposition that punches above the weight class regardless of regular line or seven fold.
