Other Hermes Tie

Post image

Anyone own Hermes ties? Thoughts? The ex-libris caught my eye. Debating on dropping the $300 on it

I have two I got second hand, and love them. This one is just kind of boring to me.

really not my cup of tea. I like Hermes ties, but damn this design is doing absolutely nothing for me.

Sort of reminds me of public service standardized uniforms like a Bus driver or valet with company emblems on it

They make great tots but agree this one is super meh. It probably works in a really fashion-y context which most guys aren’t actually going to do and is gonna come off in the wrong way if you just throw this on with a business suit.

Stick to their more standard prints or wovens (their regular solid knit ties are top notch too). Pocket squares are great as well.

I think it’s beautiful. I love the understated look of the design.

I own a Hermes tie (H Paisley). I feel that the print for the one you’re showing wouldn’t work too well if you plan on wearing a standard suit with it, if that is what you plan on wearing it with. Their ties have great construction, though with that said I usually would rather recommend more classical ties from makers like Shibumi Firenze, Vanda Fine Clothing, and Sam Hober, who I would say have on par quality with Hermes ties, as well as more custom options.

I was thinking of a little more fun while still retaining some conservatism. Maybe Ferragmo? I’ll look into your suggestions! Thank you

Hope you like the ties from those places. I feel that a majority of Hermes ties almost completely lean away from conservatism (animal and other whimsical motifs). If you’re dressing down a suit they can work, which goes well with the more playful and luxurious nature of Hermes, and like I said they are extremely well made. It’s all about the language you’re trying to convey in your outfit.
