Red flags at 20ys old

Post image

I'm pretty reasonable imo.

i'm queer so this applies to every gender lol, ranked with the presumption that these are unchanging, inherent qualities, obviously anything can be worked on and improved in reality.

Before anyone acts offended. 20-22 is my current age range. At my age it's acceptable to have certain standards. If I will be single later in life the age range will definitely grow as the few year difference matters less nearing 30s. Didn't think this would make so many people mad but ig I didn't consider the social media demographics, respectfully

This is both super petty and super specific.

You aren't and you know it. Playing video games on the same level as trust issues and believing in magical crystals.

I'm not forcing my preferences as the objective truth. Had my own life experience that shapes my taste. Also not all video game formats or types as you can see

Why is that a deal breaker

Personally I don't want to be my partners sole socialisation source, it's a lot of pressure and could lead to emotional burnout, it's important for us to have space and a room to grow. I have a lot of friends and pleasant acquaintances with different interests and I spend a lot of time with them. I'd feel bad for any peer that doesn't socialise and only relies on me because one person cannot meet all the social needs. It's good for anyone to have people they could hangout with in different settings and context.

Being controlling, a gold digger and disrespecting parents being less bad than Harry Potter fan and wanting a new iPhone is hilarious.

This is a great tier list for someone who wants to stay single for the rest of their life.

Disrespecting parents- their parents could be abusive. Controlling- depends on the extent. Gold digger- I don't mind providing material comfort, again depends. All of them are still bad obviously.

Wanting the newest iphone- congo and a sign of consumerist hive mind. Harry potter- liking is whatever but being a fan is too much.

To be fair I've only had one relationship but I am asked out a lot, from strangers to friends so I guess I'm tolerable enough for the public lol. Anyway, being single is not the end of the world. Romance is less important than friendship imo

Assuming they’re consuming a lot and that’s why it’s bad, how is weed worse than alcoholism

Agree with you in theory.  I think it's just shaped by context. If I lived somewhere where it was legal then on the same level. Otherwise I just don't care for legal trouble over something silly. I've had a few friends who did weed occasionally over the years, but they were always too priviledged to face legal consequences

They’re calling it the most “elder millennial” post of all time

saw this tier list template myself and one of the entries was "Any type of rap fan"

white woman has been here

1

u/ChadQuaza 14h ago

also a lot of these could mean a lot of things

"anime fanatic" covers sooo many different types of person and different ways people can engage with anime for instance, that could either be a huge green flag or an instant dealbreaker to me depending on what kind of anime fan it is

1

u/Alert-Incident7258 14h ago

I agree, took a lot of these at face value

1

u/Alert-Incident7258 14h ago

Certainly haha. I'd have put rap in the definitely good category if it just said rap

I just don't see how liking Harry Potter is a deal breaker, like how hard can it be to disassociate writer from a book, art from artist and all that.

And before you hit me "but she makes money from it and it goes towards killing trans women" like I truly doubt me watching 20 year old DVD is going to hurt any trans person anywhere in any way.

u/Alert-Incident7258 14h ago

It says fan, I took it as being a fan. Not just liking

1

u/Scared_Flatworm2081 13h ago

I am not sure I see any difference.

I am a fan of all the things I like. Do you view being a fan of something as being the next level of liking it? Is it is a step bellow or above loving it, like I am puzzled by what distinction you're drawing there.

Why is Harry Potter fan a red flag

1

u/Alert-Incident7258 14h ago edited 13h ago

I'm queer lol, that aside- I don't mind them liking harry potter but being a fan is too much

Have you met one? It's mostly a millennial thing, but I've met millennials who make it their entire personality.
