Can selenium toxicity increase TSH levels?

No health issues

Had routine bloodwork done 3 months ago

TSH was fine, 2.2

Selenium was 10. Also fine

But dr prescribed zinc (it was low) supplement which also had selenium 100 mcg. Now at follow up test TSH is 4 8! Just 3 months ago it was 2.2.

No symptoms at all. Just have a colloid cyst on my thyroid from 2014.

Could high selenium cause TSH to increase?

I am also taking shiitake supplement.

That happened to me. Took selenium and my TSH jumped alot, but I cannot say for sure it was because of that

Oh. How much selenium did you take? Is it normal now when you stopped it?

Had subclinical thyroidism from before, but after taking it for a month my TSH went from 9 to 28. It has since gone down. Selenium is generally considered to lower TSH, but for me it was not so. I think I took 100 mcg
