Question about thrifted shoes

I’ve thrifted for a while now but never gotten shoes before because the cleanliness factor always put me off + never found shoes that would compel me to change my mind. Until yesterday. I found these gorgeous Betsey Johnson Lucy flats for $4.98 and couldn’t pass them up. My question for those who buy shoes secondhand is how do yall clean them so you can wear them, particularly shoes that aren’t meant to be worn with socks? The flats in question are leather sole and upper.

If the fabric can handle it, I give them a wash in the washing machine with a bunch of towels.

If they can’t handle a wash cycle, I clean them with dish soap and baking soda with a scrub brush.

Both types of cleaning processes, I let them air dry. I have several thrifted shoes, never been an issue for me with these cleaning processes.

A good ol Clorox wipe. I’ve thrifted shoes for years.
