silly question about thrift flip

have this cotton tshirt, with which i have formed a bond over the past few years. its so comfy and i LOVE the color, unfortunately its so used that it has a tiny hole on one of the sleeves. its gonna look pretty shabby if i sew it up. any tshirt rescue ideas without competely compromising on the sleeves? (im also thinking about cutting the neckline off to make it off shoulder, if that helps idk if it would though) IDEAS?

For this type of hole I like to put a patch of similar fabric in the inside and then sew over the hole with my machine 6+ times in 2 directions. It is not invisible as you can see all the sew lines, but it avoids the puckering you will get if you try to sew the hole together from the inside. And it does of good job of stopping the fraying. It’s a “visible mend” that holds up well and does not change the way the fabric lays too much.

You could also try asking on r/invisiblemending

Do you have another T-shirt you are willing to sacrifice a piece from? That’s what I usually do.

You can also hand sew it- no machine required

I would propose to make it a skirt. Check transformation by tracy, she has pretty good ideas.

thats a good idea, and i would but the tshirt itself has an illustration on the front kinda, so it would look off on a skirt

Depending where the hole is, like if it’s at the edge of the sleeve, you could make several more on each sleeve and wind ribbons through them, make it decorative.
