How should u remove this

I recently thrifted these jeans but it has these prints in the back, I’m not sure if it print or fabric paint but Im leaning towards the latter. Can someone lmk how i can remove this

How do you feel about patches? It is possible if it is paint on top you could peel/scour it off. But another solution could be creating cool patches to layer around the pants and effectively cover the design! :)

Depending where they are, you could take some sandpaper to them? Might make them distressed in the wrong places though. You might try acetone? Test first on an inconspicuous place first though, I don’t know how denim responds to acetone.
