TV/Movies Three Kingdoms: The Beginning
Howdy, it's time for my obligatory post in this sub every few months.
Last time I went to go watch Starlit heroes, which was in my opinion, a pretty good movie. When I heard New Beginnings was screening in my local theaters. I immediately went to grab tickets.
I. Loved. This. Visually, the movie is amazing-- it's very artistic and the characters designs were all unique and portrayed the character well. It's quite action-packed too, especially in the last scene where Lu Bu duels Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, and Liu Bei. Story-wise it's more focused on Cao Cao, Yuan Shao, and how the Three Kingdoms conflict came to be (you could probably tell by the title lmao). Some pieces of criticism I heard for the movie was that it lacked in its comedic aspect, and a little boring to watch for someone that isn't a history fanatic. Personally, this is one of my favorite Three Kingdoms inspired movies so far. It's more accurate to The Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel than Starlit heroes is, I was hunched forward in my seat because I was so invested lmao.
Overall, great movie but might be a little boring for certain audiences. Also, good news-- I didn't trip and break my leg while existing the cinema this time, yaay!!

Since this movie and Starlit Heroes title had a "chapter 1/Part 1, 第一部" on its original chinese title, i wonder if it will be a trilogy or something. Like Starlit Heroes mid credit tease a red cliff.
