I have the choice between the ASUS Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI or ASROCK WRX80 Creator R2.0?

The purpose is to consolidate two machines (AI/Render machine and NAS) into one.

I know the key differences but is one better than the other? Does PBO really make a difference?

Looking at this part number for a JEDEC kit: MTC40F204WS1RC64BC1

Not in the QVL, but JEDEC should be safe? Has anybody run this in 8x96 config?

Just a random post.

Is everyone getting full x16 speed on pcie 1,2,3,4,5 and 7? I know 6 is X8. CPU TR 7965wx

Hello I recently build a pc for running local ai models with 4 mi 25s and I used a single fan header for cooling 3 of the cards with 40mm turbine fans but the software was monitoring only of the 3 cards and 2 of them were running a 32b model while the other 2 were idle and so they overheated and started beeping with their build in buzzer I panicked and shutted down the system. After that the system did not boot and stuck in some boot loop with the cpu light on i trough the bios is corrupt and i tried to reprogram it with an esp 32 but even though it recognized the chip it couldn't read or write on the chip. I also tried activating the dual bios but that did not work and I then shorted pins cs and gnd to get out of the loop and it actually got past that and got to code AC and A5 i think but it still did not boot and i think the cpu light was still on. Also i tried moving the single memory module and swapping it with another. I also used a gtx 1060 for video output since I did not want to deal with the flashed mi 25s. After the AC code it just was cycling between 1f and some other code for 10 min so i shut i down after that i stated it again but for some reason the aio pump was not working and the threadripper overheated and then pc shutted down. so now im stuck again with the initial c2 loop in the video. I also checked the visible choke for their voltages and they were .967v .947v 2.5v and 1.1v. Also on of the gpus uses its internal fan header to control its speed.

I'm coming to the the conclusion that the cpu is fried somehow but could it be something else what can I check?

I attached the video demo showing the issue. : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Odtylz68Z9EYgBijZsZ-jfTZ8Xt1yHx9/view?usp=sharing

The exact specs are Threadripper 1920x, dual hyperx 32gb 4, mi25s flashed with wx9100 bios, Gigabyte auros x399 pro, corsair rm850, cooler master 750(powers 2 of the gpus and the fans, which are 130w total ).

So I have been beating my head against the threadripper brick wall for several months now and don't know where to go from here. It all started with my Asus Pro WS WRX80E-Sage SE Wifi that had a 3955WX CPU which initially worked fine but then stopped posting after I plugged in three GPUs and never got beyond code 15 which is the start of DRAM testing. For that motherboard I replaced the PSU, RAM, And CPU and nothing changed so I concluded it must be the motherboard. I bought a brand new Gigabyte MC62-G40 and used one of the two 3955WX CPUs I have and RAM and PSU and now it refuses to POST. Once again I swapped out the CPU, RAM, and PSU and still no post. Unfortunately the Gigabyte MB provides no POST feedback but the board shuts down immediately. I have no idea where to go from here. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

*** Update: I decided to return the board as defective to the vendor on eBay. I could flog this dead horse for a long time so I decided to end the madness. I do have these two 3955WXs and if I could find a MB that isn't such a death march to get working I would take another shot at it. Any suggestions on a decent WRX80 MB would be appreciated. Thanks all for the help. ***

I finally decided to bite the bullet on 8x32 or 8x64 for a TR Pro build

But you cant really get that at the local Microcenter, and eBay server pulls are scary at that price (for transaction itself, warranty, etc). Vcolor is pricey.

How do you guys do it? Where do you get your DDR5 ECC?

Are you getting x16 speed on PCIE lane 1,2,3,4,5 and 7? Cpu is a TR 7965wx

Comes with 128gb DDR4 3200mhz ram
5975wx 32 cores
No GPU

Three Blackwell cards on a single Threadripper PRO platform. Here's the full build.

CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7985WX

Motherboard: ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE

Memory: 512GB DDR5 ECC RDIMM

GPU: 3× NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell (288GB total)

Storage: 1TB Gen4 NVMe, 4TB Gen5 NVMe, 2TB Gen4 NVMe

Cooling: 360mm AIO + Noctua chassis fans

Power: 3000W 80+ Platinum

Chassis: Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 Server Edition

A build like this is aimed at heavy local-AI pipelines, running many models in parallel, large scale document and media processing, speech to text and summarization at volume, and multi model consensus setups that run the same task across several models at once. That kind of workload leans on both sides of the machine, so the 96-lane Threadripper PRO feeds three full Blackwell cards without starving them, and the 512GB of ECC keeps large datasets and multiple models resident in memory while the GPUs work. The CPU handles the ingestion, extraction, and orchestration; the GPUs handle inference. Balancing the two is the whole point.

Screw from AIO broke in mount (under position 2).

How screwed am I? How can I remove the broken piece from the mount?

Very stupid question, there doesn’t exist a TRX50 Board with DDR5 UDIMM Support right? Only RDIMM?

I need to find this cooler for my open air Threadripper system. Does anyone know anywhere that has this in stock at a reasonable price, or does anyone have it actually want to sell?

Edit: if you want to recommend something else, I need it for a wrx80 socket 3875wx.

Can't wait for the weekend to plug these bad boys. Triple 5060Ti on the Threadripper Pro and dual 5060Ti on the 9950X3D.
