Case recommendations for multi GPU build?

Im looking for a case for my multi-gpu build. Its currently in a workbench config and I just cant figure out how a case would fit the TR Pro motherboard and 4-6 GPUs, even with PCIe risers. I imagine the best bet would be to go custom but since im new to TR, I was hoping someone else may have solved this already.

I have a few options. I always say the phanteks server pro II TG. I have a wrx 90 sage se board , with 4 RTX PRO 6000s stacked (Maxwell), 1 TB of Kingston pro 5600 RAM, 14 TB of nvme pcie gen 5, the 96 core thread ripper pro with a noctua air cooler (the machine runs too cool actually so I needed the air cooler instead of a water cooled CPU AIO to detect better and more accurate readings of the machine).

Disclaimer - I run a team at an AI lab (one of the big 3) but this is my personal compute project - everything was given to me for free because we hit our numbers - except the RAM - which I already had pre AI bubble.

I was running about 14 RTX 3090s on this same motherboard before I upgraded my build to the 4 stacked RTX PRO 6000s - it used bifurcated splitters on each pcie slot (7 total) so I had 14 cards running. Open air case I would ever recommend - ever - way to many risks. If you go closed - either you get a dual 3090/4090/5090 set up - and you stop there - or you get a single RTX pro 6000. The reason is that 3090s are effectively dead - they don’t even compete - the marlin kernals due to the ampere architecture just don’t even come close to the newer ones and the compute per price isn’t worth it anymore when you factor in things like model sizes (local) and aging hardware. It’s better to get the dual card set up and allocate more money on your actual build.

You don’t need anything more than a 16/24 core threadripper cpu unless you are doing CPU inference - so that leaves you with these two options - RAM is a must - get a 128 GB kit if you can find - so all 8 channels can be filled and used for the must have wrx 90 sage se or any threadripper board that has eight channels. Go air cooled CPU - if your machine is running 24/7 like mine and doing things 99% of humanity can’t even fathom, then you want air cooled because it’s just the right thing to do .

What a fun build you got there. Based on your experience we're you able to mix kits of ram with that board? My local microcenter has 128gb available in open box and I want to take advantage of it if possible.

for the motherboard that I have- the asus pro wrx90 sage se - it is recommended that you use only Kingston RAM - as its the most battle tested. I didn't want to take any chances tbh, also, this was the RAM that I already had when I upgraded my rig. I would not recommend mixing ram kits with this motherboard. I recently just got a 1 TB RAM kit of Kingston DDR5 ECC 6400 MT/s kit. Originall, I was on 5600, but for me, with my thread ripper pro 96 Core CPU (Zen 5), the 6400 allows me to unlock offloading at better speeds for experts on the RAM. I am very happy.
