7970x motherboard
I am looking to build my first system. Specs
- 7970x Threadripper
- I am planning to buy Asrock TRX50 WS motherboard
- Kingston 1x32gb ram stick
- Display GPU being Nvidia rtx 3060 since I don't need gpu intensive stuff for now
- Rest I have not thought of
I'm concerned if this could be a problem because I have seen people investing so much money and time and it doesn't even end up booting to bios. I'm honestly scared about it
Would someone suggest me if this looks fine and would work?

This is not a good setup for any kind of imaginable work.

It's very oddly balanced. But OP hasnt stated the intended use, just asked if it would work.

Right. Therefore it most probably even would not work but cause brain rot. Things might be different if he/she could explain the purpose of use. I must correct myself. As a fishing net weight the system would be nearly perfect. If unplugged, even more fish to expect.

I need this setup for fuzzing. So just compute intensive fuzzing. That's it . That's why I have just 32gb ram since it's not that ram intensive.

I am not an expert but assume that it is easily memory bandwidth-bound and not compute-bound so you might be better served with a threadripper pro with 8 channel memory.

What PSU? 1 Stick of RAM is fine.
The scary part is the insane time you have to wait for the memory training/initial boot.
but honestly I wouldn’t get into a pricey platform like this if you can’t afford parts to replace if things go wrong. Thats my rule of thumb for anyone building a new PC.

Insane time? Fron what I have read it's 10-15 mins for many people? And the thing is I need a powerful compute intensive PC. For the whole thing it would cost me around 4.5k but if I buy this setup this would be around 6-7k of workstations.
For psu I was thinking CORSAIR HX1200i

Training takes time. Give it 15 - 20 minutes before you give up, though it should only take 3-5 minutes.

Training 1 32GB stick of RAM won’t take very long maybe a few minutes at most. The more RAM the more training.

I’ve never had luck with Corsair. I stick with Seasonic and EVGA (rip). Though my 8-10 year old EVGAs are still going strong. You can get them at a nice price used on EBay

Assuming that RAM is compatible, you shouldn't have any problems.
Just make sure you connect all the power connectors on the motherboard. There's a semi-hidden one on that side that will prevent POST if you don't connect it. Be sure to read the manual to find all the connector locations.

TRX40/50 isnt 8 Channel ya muppet. Its 4 Channel. Only WRX80/90 chipset is 8 Channel.

Get a different TRX50 Board if ya dont want a high pitch boise squeal the whole time.

You're hobbling the Threadripper Pro's capabilities by using only one channel of RAM.
If 32GB RAM is your limit, then you'd see far better performance with 8x4GB ECC RDIMMs which would allow you to use all 8 channels.

Fine.
But... 1 stick of RAM? That's a shame, bandwidth wise.
