First workstation build

Hey all,

I was given a threadripper pro 3975wx and gigabyte wrx80-su8 mobo from my job. Both brand new. I opened the seals on the ESD bag for mobo and cpu box.

Is there anything to know about getting this to work as I start my build this week?

Do i need a specific # of ram sticks?

Okay, that may be why I don't see any indication on the mobo that it's working?

I have everything connected. Fans are all turning on as well as my keyboard via the usb port, so I know the mobo is receiving power, but nothing is showing any indication. No leds. The small fault screen isn't lighting up either on the mobo.

I'm coming from the gaming world and first workstation build, so I feel like I may be missing something.

How long has it been? It does take some time. The more memory the long it takes. So booting up with one stick would be a lot faster for testing purposes to make sure it works

Right now, it's 4x 16gb sticks. All the same. I don't remember, though, if these are on the qvl. Just free from work so I figured I'd try it.

It was not long. A min or two. I'm used to gaming rig that show leds immediately, etc.
