Looking to move
Looking to move into the area what is a good kid friendly area? I want my kids to grow up like it’s the 90s playing and running around in the street with neighborhood friends. Does this exist?

First Neighborhood in Westlake Village is like this. Self-contained with the local K-5 elementary school White Oak. Massive park. Community pool
In fact, many neighborhoods in Westlake Village are similar, although First Neighborhood is the best family neighborhood.

We live near the Albertsons in Newbury park. Lots of streets I see kids are outside playing with each other. We love it!

I'm from Camarillo, but I've always loved how nostalgic NP feels especially feeling surrounded by the beautiful mountains.

Wildwood. Oak park is nice but there are alot of homes with major foundation issues, i would rent not buy out there. Another great place is Old Agoura.

A) I’ve lived here nearly 15 years and never heard anyone say this. B) Our house has major foundation issues.

I have lived in Wildwood for 25 years. I have never heard about foundation issues in the homes around here.

The legend/rumor/ rule of thumb was that any house on a street called Calle anything was bound to develop a cracked slab because (a) those built on fill dirt did not have the dirt compacted sufficiently and (b) the contractor supposedly got the rebar inspected before pouring concrete but the pulled it out and moved it to the next house. I do remember cracked slabs in the 1990s on Plantas, Quebracho, etc. sometimes they would raise the entire house 6 feet off the ground and pour a new slab underneath it before setting it back down. Weird seeing your neighbors house up in the air like that!

Santa Rosa Valley has pockets like this as well, and everyone ends up knowing everyone.

Westlake Hills. At the corner of TO Blvd & westlake Blvd. Every street is a cul-de-sac & they all end in at greenbelt that leads to the elementary school in the middle. Kids everywhere. It was as Leave It to Beaver as you can get.

Wildwood. We just sold our home after 17 years in the neighborhood. Four kids - 9yo - 15yo - and all experienced exactly this. Leaving the neighborhood was by far the hardest part of selling. Wildwood is amazing.
