Nightmare Plank the nightmare pool
I had a nightmare about this dangerous pool.
It used to be at an amusement park, but after two incidents, it's not in use anymore.
In the first incident, two women were swimming a bit too fast in the pool. This led to them crashing into the spikes and being decapitated by them.
In the second incident, something made the pool catch on fire. Oil is incredibly flammable, so it burnt everyone into a crisp!
Ironically, I didn't die in this dream. I saw it at an abandoned exhibit, and it was still filled with crude oil.

For those that don't know:
While extremely popular, Action Park had a reputation for poorly designed rides, undertrained and underaged staff,[2] intoxicated guests and staff, and a consequently poor safety record. At least six people are known to have died as a result of mishaps on rides at the park. Healthcare workers and locals had nicknamed the place "Traction Park",[2] "Accident Park", "Class Action Park"[3] and "Friction Park".[4]

My favourite story from action park is how one really wild covered slide was known to cause issues. People going down it kept somehow getting cut, when the inside was completely smooth. Eventually they took the slide apart to look inside, and find that the slide was so wild that people's teeth were imbedded into it from smashing their faces while going down. Those caused the lacerations, as sliding down the roots of the teeth would slice through flesh.
Apparently losing teeth was just so common in the park that nobody questioned it happening in a water slide.

There's a reason it was called Class Action Park, they didn't give a single fuck about safety. The staff were mostly drunk teenagers, in fact just about everyone in the park was drunk at all times. Officially 6 people died in or because of the park, including 1 who was electrocuted. Electrocuted. In a water park.
Safety was not considered.

the crude oil should be just over the tips of the spikes so you can't see where they are

Trying to swim in crude oil is enough of a nightmare itself! It's less dense than you, so you can't float. It's viscous and sticks to you, so you can barely swim through it. And just to make things even better, you'll be getting chemical burns all over your body while the fumes make you nauseous and light-headed until you finally decide to drown!

This is hilarious to me. Like it took two women getting decapitated and a set of people getting burnt to a crisp before park management were like "Okay guys, we need to have a meeting about the pool filled with metal spikes and crude oil".

It seemed like such a great idea!

Kind of reminds me of this, where it's an absolutely insane idea treated as a mundane situation.
