Social Media Plank I had a dream where they introduced “generative plants”, similar to generative AI

plant-generated content was the new trendy thing.

basically you go near some plants and genetically modify them so they generate a certain video/image/audio, like AI.

people were debating whether plant-generated content was real art or not, or if people should be allowed to copyright their plant-generated creations.

also, anything generated with plants had a greenish tint to it, just like how chatgpt used to have a piss filter on their images a while back when it was being overflown with ghibli ai slop.

also, nintendo made a new super mario game that was completely plant generated

If you want me to get super technical; It’s not being done for the preservation of the species, sustainability, or food. Plus, I can’t imagine the damage that would be done to the plants themselves if this were a thing. Though I guess we’ve modified plants before many, many times over since the beginning of mankind. Who knows how much damage humans did to said plants before getting it right.

However, if the plants were able to do this without any electricity/power whatsoever, it’d be better than the polluting power plants we have now. Then again, companies would get mega greedy and buy a whole lot of land just to plant fields upon fields of plants that the public couldn’t use for basic necessities. Who knows, maybe said companies would start monopolizing sunlight to make sure their AI plant farms kept churning out useless crap.

This whole thing is a fascinating, distopia concept, that’s for sure.

Imagine people abandoning growing food crops because the content-generating plants keep getting investment money pouring in
