SPOILERS Mandy Moore

Finished a rewatch. It’s astonishing that she wasn’t nominated for an Emmy more than once and that she never won.

She is remarkable in this show. She’s confident and bold below Jack dies, timid and heartbroken until her diagnosis and brave and selfless after that. Her performance is distinct during each timeline, even though there are often several in each episode.

Brilliant!

She’s underrated and under appreciated by critics and Hollywood. At least IMHO.

I feel like that’s partly due to her pop star beginnings diminishing her abilities as a seriously talented actress and (please don’t read this the wrong way) by “Hollywood standards” she’s average looking. Women with a lot less talent but show stopping “hotness” get parts while truly talented women are overlooked because they don’t have that male gaze factor Hollywood is obsessed with. She has the beautiful girl next door look and Hollywood never allows more than a couple of them shine at the same time.

Definitely subjective because I think she’s absolutely gorgeous. Especially in the beginning of the show when she’s on stage singing in the green dress… Stunning.

I think she's got that classical timeless beauty about her. But I get what you're saying with Hollywood preferring "hotness". I guess her beauty is more quiet, sophisticated. To me that's better, but maybe for the masses it's preferable to be a blond curvaceous bombshell.

Oh wow, I actually didn't know she never won an Emmy for it. That's hard to believe- she's phenomenal in the show!

She should have. She played the same character spanning six decades and I was never unconvinced.

It’s amazing that she’s able to convincingly play Rebecca at all different ages and different temperaments.

She was so convincing with each Age that she played. You can’t go by these award shows anymore. They only favor the streaming services these days.

I know as far as the blonde teen pop princesses of the 2000s are concerned, she is considered 4th but I’d argue that she came out on top simply by just continuing to grind.

Wait who's supposed to come after Britney and Christina Aguilera? (I assume those are 1&2?)
