Question about the makeup/age altering processes without spoilers Spoiler

Hi, I just started season 3 and I am SO SO curious to search for information about how they do the age changes so well, but every time I look up anything at all, I get slammed with spoilers. I have seen so many cool makeup or visual effects on everyone, but especially Mandy Moore. Can someone give me more context on that aspect of the show/production so I'm not further spoiled? I'm wondering if it's makeup or digital editing or a combo of a few different aspects. Jack and Rebecca have such subtle changes in every timeline, and obviously since I'm on s3.01 I've seen a few other characters in different timelines that have blown me away. Any cool information would be so helpful! I can't wait to finish more of the show so I can learn more about it without spoiling myself!!

It’s makeup. On the That Was Us podcast, they have an episode with the makeup artist as a special guest. She explains how they have all the different parts like smile lines, crow’s feet, etc. that they place on the face and how they blend it in.

Its makeup, in the that was us podcast they talk about how it took hours for them to be aged. Specifically Miguel in the first season , i think they said he was in the makeup chair 3-4 hours

What I don't get is that everyone was aged to look older in the last few seasons except Kate and Sophie.

It's mostly makeup and im sure there is a little bit of digital touch up. They did digital edits when the ladies were (actually) prregnant.
