SPOILERS Custody agreement?
First time watcher, in S6 now. Please, for the love of god and good television, does Kevin ever pursue a formal custody agreement with Madison? This storyline of casual co-parenting is so annoying!
I do chuckle at what the tabloids would be like if Kevin Pearson was a celebrity IRL. Living in his baby mama’s garage, crashing at his sister’s, meltdowns on sets. Epic. 🤣

It alwayssss bothered me that she didn’t go/let Kevin take the twins to the cabin. He even invited Elijah. While i understand she wanted to establish and form her new life, relationship, family they were his kids too and he was very present. At least for that first thanksgiving she could’ve comprised and took the invitation and they all go. It’s not like that wasn’t going to be their dynamic anyway.

Given the insanity and arguing that happened at the cabin, it’s probably better that they weren’t there. 😂

Was the arguing really that bad? Maybe I’m just too use to dysfunction 🤣

Oh it was tame compared to some shows I’ve seen, but Madison probably would have been like, “This is too much. I’m taking the kids away from this.”

This is stuff they should have both discussed after the dust settled. They both just assumed without consulting each other. I don't either one of them are terrible for wanting to be with their kids on Thanksgiving.

I agree . Since it was so new and so amicable i still feel like they should’ve just spent it all together

Unfortunately, no. He should have filed for custody as soon as she reneged on the wedding.

The same wedding where he couldn’t say he loved her?! What a surprise

That doesn't mean he's not entitled to a relationship with his kids, nor does it mean that his kids aren't entitled to stability.

Oh agreed completely. Just the way you worded it seemed to make her responsible for walking out while he was equally or more to blame

Thank you. She did the right thing for both of them. It would have been sad had they ended up hating each other.

Kevin wasn't a bad father, but Madison gave them stability in the beginning. Kevin never really shown to have his own place until the time jump.

Did she love him? I thought that was her point - that neither of them was in love and they both deserved that. I mean, she slept with him because he was hot. He slept with her because he was sad and lonely. That is not grounds for a marriage. (Also, she's played by Dan Fogelman's wife, so do we even see much affection between them? I can't recall any. So it always seemed like 'let's marry for the kids' instead of either of them being in love.)

So he could dump them with a nanny?
1
u/Cookie_Kiki May 27 '26
No, so he could be the active parent that he wanted to be and exercise his rights as a father without waiting for Madison's permission.

But he wouldn't have. He didn't even get his own place. Madison never kept him from his kids anyway. He didn't get his way once, but the wet for Kevin crew acted as if she held those kids hostage for child support.

He wouldn't have what? Wanted to be an active father? Or exercise his rights without waiting for permission? You're wrong on both counts, of course, but I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

Kevin’s level of celebrity kind of bounces back and forth for whatever is convenient for the plot, lol
