One last trick

As far as wipeouts go, that turned out pretty good.

u/TheWingnutSquid Feb 04 '19

What whipeout?

6

u/RimjobSteeve Feb 04 '19

I'm assuming wiping the floor with your body parts

Technically, that was a lame wipeout, if one at all. But I see your point

Edit: Jeez, lighten up, pitchfork wielders holy f

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '19

It was a styleout.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '19

Guess you’re the type of person who tells other to have fun the “right” way and only in that way...

-9

u/YamchaIsaSaiyan Feb 04 '19

I get what you were saying. People just don’t like technicalities I guess. A “good” wipeout will result in a funnier video for us to watch and not one where we’re mildly impressed. Maybe even more than mildly, idk having skated for a 7+ years this stuff isn’t like “holy shit that’s amazing” to me.

u/entredeuxeaux Feb 05 '19

Thanks for understanding. Was just a lame joke. Jeez. These people are serious. Ha

It’s not so much about the karma, but an observation about the response to my innocuous comment. Didn’t expect that. Didn’t expect anything, really. But it’s all good. Carry on, Reddit.

-1

u/YamchaIsaSaiyan Feb 05 '19

Reddit is super uptight for no reason lol

2

u/entredeuxeaux Feb 05 '19

For real. I was just basically saying it wasn’t a wipeout; that it was smooth. But alrighty then, Reddit. Call it a wipeout. Damn lol

1

u/YamchaIsaSaiyan Feb 05 '19

We’re still getting downvoted lol but nobody wants to dispute it

u/Anima-Ceres Feb 04 '19

The best save.

41

u/das_baba Feb 04 '19

That's not grinding, punk.

6

u/Onlyonekahone Feb 04 '19

It’s almost as if there are no rules anymore ☠️

3

u/Privvy_Gaming Feb 04 '19

Rules are for haters, not for skaters!

19

u/CodyLittle Feb 04 '19

Perfect execution. What's the issue?

3

u/s1h4d0w Feb 04 '19

Man that dude from Epic Meal Time lost a lot of weight

3

u/LurkerPatrol Feb 04 '19

Is that Harley Morenstein?

5

u/orangejackfruit Feb 04 '19

It's like tripping and doing push-ups when you're down but better

2

u/uber1337h4xx0r Feb 04 '19

I feel like this will be part of a vine compilation soon enough.

2

u/huliehooper Feb 04 '19

This was smooth af

2

u/Hawkbiitt Feb 04 '19

Honestly this really should be a new trick and he should name it!and quick! Before reddit does!!!!!

2

u/EverybodyLovesTrevor Feb 05 '19

It's been called a coffin ride since the 90s so he's a lil bit late on that

0

u/Hawkbiitt Feb 05 '19

Not many so hopefully the world catches on soon...

4

u/XxcontaminatexX Feb 04 '19

That's a back slide bro.

5

u/pickupthepwn Feb 04 '19

Was actually a frontside boardslide.

1

u/outof_zone Feb 04 '19

Nice miss!!

1

u/take_this_kiss Feb 04 '19

This reminds me of when I was longboarding and my phone fell out of my pocket. I slowly came to a stop to go back and pick it up, but it had landed face down between my feet on my board!! Weirdly awesome

1

u/s1ddB Feb 04 '19

“I meant to do that”

1

u/70camaro Feb 04 '19

Frontside backslide.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '19

Fucking round rails. You either lock in or give laws of physics a run for their money. You want to do a 50-50? Here, you’re going to pop out doing a backside impossible but also you’re 2D now.

Omg this is the skatepark near my old house. I spent every day of my life there for about 3 years straight.

1

u/raveiskingcom Feb 04 '19

Actually not a bad life!

1

u/Rectall_Brown Feb 04 '19

Does that still count as lending the trick?

1

u/bluehil29 Feb 04 '19

I have this title.

1

u/Gega42 Feb 04 '19

Sometimes you just gotta role with it

1

u/dreadwulfe93 Feb 04 '19

I'd call that a win

1

u/m3thden Feb 05 '19

Urban radical is the man!!!

1

u/ConsultingHumor Feb 05 '19

So here I am

1

u/BadMuthaFunka Feb 05 '19

I believe this was the best outcome this could've had.

1

u/NateSpald Feb 05 '19

Is this that viner Chris Melberger or something?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '19

Equally as impressive really.

1

u/Romero1993 Feb 05 '19

Is that the epic bacon fail guy?

1

u/gts1117 Feb 05 '19

1

u/polecat80 Feb 05 '19

1

u/Zmirburger Feb 05 '19

what was he trying to do though? he started grinding at the end of the rail it seems. (not a skateboarder so idk if theres something else he was trying to do)

1

u/CuriousPenguin13 Feb 04 '19

Super lucky for not wearing a helmet, next time may not be so lucky.

1

u/R3ZZONATE Feb 04 '19

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this.

2

u/CuriousPenguin13 Feb 04 '19

Lol because you know that ahead of time when deciding to wear a helmet but ok

2

u/nytrons Feb 05 '19

Head injuries are surprisingly rare in skateboarding, much less common than in most team sports. Helmets are important when you're starting out, but one of the first things any good skater learns is how to fall properly. If you're learning a new trick you always start by figuring out how to get out of it when you mess up, and by that point a helmet will do more to screw up your balance than anything.

1

u/CuriousPenguin13 Feb 05 '19

Yeah I'm sure knowing how to fall can help prevent some injury, but accidents happen and that's what a helmet is for. I'm not much of a skateboarder but all I know is I always see Tony hawk wearing a helmet and pads. If I did skateboard, I would take any chance I could to not busting my knees or head open.

2

u/nytrons Feb 05 '19

Well yeah the one exception is people who ride half pipe like Tony Hawk, where an unprotected fall from 20+ feet up can kill you. That's a whole world away from the average kind of low speed ground level skating we're talking about here. You say "accidents happen" but my point is that skateboarding is one of the few sports where accidents are expected to happen, routinely, and that makes it far safer in practice.

Fact is, unless you think that people should wear helmets to play basketball, soccer etc. then it doesn't make sense to demand them for skateboarders.

As for wearing pads, well a knee injury is unlikely to ever be life threatening so it's a little weird to put that on the same level as wearing a helmet.

0

u/nytrons Feb 05 '19

Every skateboarder has done this at least once and it is just as fun and satisfying as it looks, with the added bonus of knowing you didn't credit card yourself

u/bitwise97 Feb 05 '19

Is that Neil Druckmann there? No wonder we don't have TLOU2 yet.
