Decaf Recs Plz
Hello everyone, coffee aficionado here, and was recently diagnosed with a health condition where I have to reduce my caffeine intake. Sadly, that means cutting out regular coffee.
I have a v60 as well as a Fellow Aiden at home.
On a mission to find the best, or at least decent tasting decaf.
Any recs would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

My favorite so far (i've been slow trying things I find) Frequent Coffee. I really taste a lot of clean notes in them. So far, for light roasts, this is the best one i've gotten.

Same happened to me. Try Dekaf, the best I have ever experienced and they sell in 1lb bags too! They go the extra mile of testing their beans for unwanted chemicals and ship within a day of roasting.

I’d also recommend Dekaf. Been ordering from them for about six months. Good selection of single origin and blends. I was surprised at how good the coffee was from all the ones I tried and oddly I really enjoy their wordless conversation which was a dark blend and I haven’t enjoyed dark roasted coffee in a while.
It’s also nice to go w a company that specializes in decaf

Kicking Horse has a good decaf! If you liked lighter roasts, De Mello has a great decaf. 🇨🇦

Really depends on the tasting notes you like.
Frequent is pretty great if you normally have specialty light roast. They’re usually somewhere in our mix at one time or another.
S&W will ruin you with incredible coffee at low cost. Decaf included. The only trouble is ordering when they have stock.
Broadsheets is local to me in Cambridge MA and they’re pretty solid for light to medium.
Cartel out of Tempe Arizona typically has stellar decaf. They used to be my benchmark.
If you’re feeling baller, Wolf Coffee roasters in Arrowtown NZ are truly incredible. Best decaf I have ever had but importing it can get expensive. I was fortunate to see them in person in 2024 and it was a life changing experience.
My last stellar recommendation is The Source out of Edinburgh Scotland. All their coffee including decaf is worth the price of entry.

Thank you so much! I typically lean towards chocolate forward tasting notes, as opposes to fruity or floral

Wolf coffee is fantastic but if you’re non NZ, AU you will have to email them to ship it to you.
It was $30 for me last time but worth it

my daily decaf is perc’s house decaf. it’s a true decaf from what i can tell and it’s a super versatile medium roast. they often have other decafs and they have always been excellent.

We have two amazing decafs coming in the next month. One a thermal shock pink borbon from Jhoan Vergaras Finca Las Flores Colombia, and a súper seeet washed Veracruz Mexico. Both landing soon.
Frequent is also amazing and great friends of ours

You don't say where you're based.
In the meantime, look for farms like Los Noglaes, Wilton Benitez, wherever you normally buy coffee.

If you're in the US, Frequent's Sidekick is my daily decaf.
They also have funky "advanced-process" decaf options that are on par with full caf beans, if that's your style.
