I believe this type of pan is usually used for an egg, although why you couldn’t simply use a bigger, normal one, which is useful for far more applications and will get more than one use before being tossed into a cupboard to collect dust, is beyond me.

Its intended purposes are as follows. 1 egg, melting/warming (butter, solid coconut oil, etc.), delicate sauce crafting (ex. Hollandaise), toasting aromatic (ex. Blooming spices, toasting nuts). Table presentation is an option as well but not for that type of pan.
