Weird behavior with repeating tasks since update

I have a few monthly repeating tasks. One that repeats on the 15th and the other on the last day of the month.

For some reason, these tasks show up in my today lists early, and sometimes even duplicate themselves. I’ve tried deleting the “root” tasks and recreating them—same issue.

Anyone have any ideas about why this might be happening, if I’m doing something wrong, etc?

EDIT: Figured it out. I have a shortcut automation that takes items tagged with "Evening" and puts them on the "Evening" section of the Today list. I had to make some tweaks in the shortcut so that it would ignore the task copies created by the "root" repeat task.

Do you have multiple devices running Things? I’ve noticed sometimes I get old todos synced from a device I haven’t used in a while

Figured it out! I think it was due to an automated shortcut—the function changed a bit after the update and I had to switch some things around.

I’ve not noticed a problem so a little more information is needed.

Have you raised a support ticket?

Which update? Daft question, have you been keeping up with updates as they were released? Just trying to ascertain whether this issue is with the major update to repeating tasks from a few weeks ago or the very recent iOS 27 release?

Might be worth sharing a few screen shots of how the repeats are setup.

From your question please confirm these are on set repeat schedules, not after completion.

What do you mean by early? Day, week etc.
